沖縄県北部美ら海水族館がある海洋博公園内の施設で、人魚のモデルともいわれるマナティーを見ることができる施設です。
地階の観察室からはマナティの水中の様子が観察でき、2001年に生まれた赤ちゃんマナティーが誕生の映像も紹介しています。

人魚伝説のモデルとなったアメリカマナティー、成獣の大きさは3～4.5m、体重300～1,000kg。
現在絶滅の危機にあり、国際保護動物に指定されているので飼育展示して見られるのは珍しいことなのでぜひ立ち寄ってみてくださいね！
