The dry-water mangrove forest in the Hanechi Inland Sea, one of the "Eight Views of Okinawa," is home to a variety of creatures, including the southern flying goby and the lionfish.

Gesashi River
Extensive subtropical forestYanbaru, northern region of Okinawa PrefectureThe Keisatsugawa River runs through the island. The mangrove community inhabiting the Keisaji River is designated as a national natural monument, and its 10-hectare area is one of the largest on the main island.
The river's volume of water changes dramatically depending on the tide, so the days when you can enjoy canoeing (kayaking) vary slightly from day to day.
