フクギ並木とは
沖縄県北部本部町にある備瀬地区は、約250戸ある村落で、住宅のほとんどは繁茂したフクギの屋敷林に囲まれています。
この集落一帯に見られるような風景は台風の多い沖縄ならではのもので、フクギは沖縄では古くから防風林として用いられ、特に海の近くにある集落の屋敷の周りには多く植えられていました。
フクギ並木での遊び方
フクギ並木をバックに写真を撮ったり、昔ながらの備瀬地区を散策したりと目の前も海なので海に出たりすることもできます。最近は、カフェや飲食店も増えたので、グルメから遊びまで充実している人気スポットです。
