What is Underwater Road?
This road also serves as a bridge connecting four remote islands in Uruma City in central Okinawa. From here, you can go to "Hamahiga Island," "Ike Island," "Miyagi Island," and "Heianza Island.
Although it is called an underwater road, the bridge actually extends over the ocean and is surrounded by the sea on all sides, making it a must-stop driving course on your trip to Okinawa.
How to play on the Underwater Road
Driving along the underwater road is soothing, but the close proximity to the ocean also makes it possible to descend stone steps into the sea.
The long stretch of shallow, ankle-deep water also makes it safe for children to enter the sea.
It is a great spot for taking Instagram-worthy photos, as it is so beautiful when photographed with the spectacular ocean in the background.
Early reservations are recommended as they fill up quickly.
