What is Baikubu River?
The only four types on the main island of OkinawamangroveThe river is protected by mangrove forests called the “cradle of life,” which are less susceptible to wind even in winter.
The river originates in Onna Village, famous for Manzamo (Manzamo Gorge) and the Blue Cave, and flows across the adjacent town of Kinmu into the Pacific Ocean.
It is also famous as a scenic spot for bird watching, perhaps because of the abundance of wild birds.
