億首川とは

沖縄本島で唯一4種類のmangroveが自生しており、冬季でも風の影響を受けにくい、木々に守られた“命のゆりかご”と呼ばれるマングローブ林がある川です。

「万座毛（まんざもう）」や「青の洞窟」などで有名な恩納村（おんなそん）を源流に、隣接する金武町（きんちょう）を横断し太平洋へと注ぎます。

野鳥の多さからかバードウォッチングの名勝地としても有名だそうです。
