What is Cape Maeda?

Cape Maeda, located in Onna Village in the northern part of the main island dotted with resort hotels, is one of the best diving and snorkeling spots in Okinawa and is loved by local divers and tourists alike as the "Blue Cave.

Part of the designated Coastal National Park, the observatory at the tip of the mountain commands a panoramic view of the beautiful coastline. The view from the observatory at the top of the peak offers a panoramic view of the beautiful coastline, Cape Zanba to the west, Manzamo to the northeast, and the mountains of northern Yanbaru in the distance.

How to play at Cape Maeda

Diving and snorkeling can be enjoyed at Cape Maeda without using a boat.

The easy access to the spot is a nice feature, as you can walk down the stairs from the parking lot to the ocean. There are two routes to the Blue Cave: beach entry (descending from the stairs at Cape Maeda into the ocean) and boat entry (entering from the ocean by boat near the Blue Cave).
