Coral spawning

Corals are animals, not plants, and they spawn.

May-June.Around high tide (night of full moon)If you are lucky, you can see them all spawning at the same time.

The pink grains on the surface of corals are not eggs, but capsules (bundles) filled with multiple eggs and sperm. When these capsules float to the surface and burst, fertilization occurs.
