Summary of the National Travel Support Program
The Nationwide Travel Discount is a “nationwide initiative to stimulate tourism demand” announced by the Japan Tourism Agency in June 2022 (Reiwa 4).
① 20% off the travel cost
Like GoTo Travel, the government supports a portion of the cost of the trip, allowing you to travel at a discounted price.
The discount rate isUp to 20%(The maximum discount is 5,000 yen per night for trips that include transportation and 3,000 yen for day trips.)
*Children and infants are counted as one person each.
② Issuing different regional coupons on weekdays and holidays
Regional coupons (worth 2,000 yen on weekdays and 1,000 yen on weekends) will be issued as electronic coupons.
◆For trips that include overnight stays, if both the overnight stay and the following day are holidays (Saturday, Sunday, or national holiday), the overnight stay will be treated as a "holiday" and the rest of the trip will be treated as a "weekday".
◆Day trips are treated as "holidays" on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, and all other days are treated as "weekdays".
③ Sales will begin from businesses that are ready

Starting May 8, the Japan Tourism Agency will require the presentation of proof of vaccination or a negative test resultunnecessary...the company announced. To take advantage of the campaign, when you check in on the day of your visit,Identification onlyYou must present it.
