540代Month of posting: 2026/03I participated with my lower elementary school child. I had underestimated the time required for the 1.5-hour hike, but it was more of a mountain climbing course than I had expected! However, we walked slowly around dangerous spots, took frequent breaks, and received information about the Yanbaru Forest, so we did not feel too tired. It was a cold day with a strong wind, so there were not many creatures, but we were still able to enjoy a thrilling stroll through the forest, including a tree lizard, rare Haruzaki Yatsushiro orchid flowers, rare snails here and there, colorful snails, and some horrifying insects. The king of the banyan trees was a sight to behold! I had seen the banyan tree in the Valley of the Banyan Tree, but this was a different and overwhelming experience. It is worth seeing. The best thing is that my child enjoyed it with sparkling eyes from start to finish. I think this is an activity that both adults and children should experience.
