Humpback whales return to Okinawa's winter waters!

Whale watching is becoming a regular event in Okinawa. In winter, whales come to the waters around Okinawa to breed and raise their young.humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae)will return.

Humpback whales are one of the largest mammals in the world, measuring 10 to 15 meters in length and weighing up to 30 tons. Dynamic sights such as the powerful breaching (squirting) and jumping called breaching can be seen!

The course was designed by a marine specialist with over 22 years of experience (as of 2024) as a marine sports instructor in Okinawa. The course is designed for guests to enjoy the Okinawan sea more.

Our staff are also certified by the Okinawa Prefectural Public Safety Commission, so you can participate and enjoy yourselves in a safe & secure environment!

Meeting place is near American Village, and you can also meet with other ☆ in between sightseeing.

The port is the closest "Chatan Fisherina" from the very popular tourist spot "American Village". The atmosphere and accessibility are both excellent!

You can choose between a half-day course in the morning or afternoon, so it is recommended for those who want to make the most of their time, such as after arriving in Okinawa or in the morning on the last day of their stay in Okinawa.

9:00	13:00		Meet at Chatan Fisher Arena Please come directly to the boat (boat name: Haisai) upon arrival. Our staff will be happy to help you.
9:15	13:15		departure Put on a life jacket and head out into the Okinawan sea! Enjoy cruising.
10:00	14:00		Whale watching begins We look for whales that are actually swimming with the naked eye. Sometimes they meet within 15 minutes of leaving port, sometimes it takes more than an hour.
11:00	15:00		Whale watching ends Enjoy approximately 45 minutes of cruising.
11:45	15:45		Arrival at Chatan Fisher Arena After getting off the boat, you may still have the sensation of being rocked by the waves. Please remember to check your safety while watching your step.
12:00	16:00		dissolution Please return directly to the hotels in the area after dismissal. If you need to change your clothes, please use the changing rooms in the "Uminchu Warp. ※利用時間AM9:00~PM6:00、温水シャワーあり(200円/5分)

*Tour may be cancelled due to weather conditions (high waves, storms, thunderstorms, etc.) on the day of the tour. In such cases, no cancellation fee will be charged. If the tour is cancelled after you arrive at the site, we will not be able to compensate you for travel expenses.

If a reservation is cancelled for the customer's convenience, the following cancellation fees will apply.

Up to 8 days in advance: free of charge
7 to 2 days prior: 2,000 yen/pair
Day before/on the day of the event: 100% of the registration fee

*If you are unable to join the tour due to force majeure, such as cancellation of the tour due to bad weather or flight cancellation, no cancellation fee will be charged.
If there is availability in the preceding or following dates, it can be changed free of charge.

*Pregnant women, women with medical restrictions on exercise, and those under the influence of alcohol are not permitted to participate in the course. For safety reasons, smoking and drinking are not permitted on board. Please consult with us if you have any other concerns or symptoms.

*We cannot guarantee a 100% encounter rate with whales because they are wild animals. Please note that no refunds will be made in the unlikely event that you do not see the whales.
